Plane

Swiss, the national air line takes off with Lufthansa into a new future. EasyJet offer flights too. Main airport is Zürich-Kloten, smaller ones are Euro-Airport Basel-Mulhouse or Geneva-Cointrin.


Shopping & Post office

Shops are generally open Mo-Fr 9-18.30 and Sa 9-16. Usually they accept credit cards. Post boxes are yellow. Post offices are open Mo-Fr 7.30-12 and 14-18, Sa 8-11.

Customs

You can bring: 2 liter of alcohol below 15% and 1 liter above. 200 cigarettes or 100 cigarillos or 50 cigars or 250g of tabacco. 50g of parfume or 250g eau de toilette.

Money exchange

The swiss currency is the Swiss Franc (sFr). It can be bought at all banks, post offices, raileay stations and some exchange offices. Banks are open Mo-Fr 8.30-12 and 13.30-16.30.

The national TV stations are SF1 and SF2. The national radio station is DRS. DRS2 plays classic music, DRS3 pop & rock music. Weekly newspapers are Weltwoche or WOZ. The most important daily newspapers are Blick, Tagesanzeiger and NZZ. For news in english visit the website www.swissinfo.org.

Dial 0041 to switzerland. The three mobile phone companies are Swisscom, Sunrise and Orange. Prepaid cards are avaiable for about 40.- sFr.
